💍 A Personal Look at a Beautiful Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Wedding

There are weddings that you capture — and then there are weddings that you feel. Lisha and Alvin’s Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Wedding was the latter. From the very first smile to the final dance, every moment was steeped in joy, tradition, and the unmistakable energy of two people who truly belong together.

For me, the day began with pure excitement. Meeting Lisha and Alvin, their connection was instant and apparent — not just in quick glances, but in the way they laughed, stood close, and looked at each other as if no one else existed. And trust me, the camera felt it too.

⛪ A Meaningful Ceremony at the Cathedral Basilica

Though this was a Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church celebration (rich in deep Christian and Indian cultural symbolism), the ceremony took place at the magnificent Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, NJ — a setting so grand it elevated every frame and every moment.

Malankara Orthodox weddings carry centuries of sacred tradition — including the blessing of rings and symbolic crowns that unite the couple in both love and lifelong commitment before God, the Church, and their community.

It was beautiful to witness this blend of rich historic faith and modern celebration — an ancient sacrament welcomed with full hearts and quiet reverence.

💃 Celebration & Fun at Hanover Marriott

After the sacred vows, the celebration truly came to life at the Hanover Marriott reception. Laughter buzzed through the room, bubbles danced in the air as guests cheered, and the dance floor kept everyone smiling well into the night.

One of my favorite moments? Watching the bridesmaids and groomsmen let loose — a perfect contrast to the solemnity of the ceremony and the joyful, emotional energy that only a wedding like this can bring.

📷 Final Thoughts

Every wedding tells a story, but this one was special — not only because of the beautiful setting or the striking images, but because you could feel the meaning in every exchange. It was a powerful reminder that weddings are more than photo ops — they are heartfelt beginnings of lifelong journeys.

If you love photography, tradition, or simply great love stories, this wedding is one for the books — and I’m so glad I got to witness and capture it.
